The water level gauge improvement consortium project for rice paddies has been adopted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries as part of the "Fiscal Year 2021 Smart Agriculture Technology Development Support Project."
Okayama Prefecture, where our company is located, is known for its active cultivation of fruit trees such as peaches and grapes, while also producing high-quality rice. With a warm climate, abundant sunshine often referred to as the "Land of Sunshine," and the rich waters from three major rivers, the production of high-quality rice is supported. Asahi rice, which is beloved in the prefecture, has been valued for sushi rice since ancient times and is considered to be the root of Koshihikari rice.
This time, in collaboration with the Bichu Prefectural Agricultural, Forestry and Fisheries Department (Niimi Agricultural Extension Center), we aim to realize a remote monitoring system utilizing IoT technology.
Our activities will focus on developing a low-cost water level meter specifically for measuring water levels in fields, investigating its usability, accuracy, durability, and other conditions, and promoting the use of simple water level meters based on the results.
