"COBARION" is a cobalt-based alloy developed by Professor Akihiko Chiba at Tohoku University’s Institute of Metal Materials and manufactured by Aiwa Co., Ltd. It features a unique technology that suppresses nickel, which can cause metal allergies, achieving excellent strength, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance. This COBARION material is highly valuable as it is less likely to cause allergies and is gentle on the human body. It is suitable for artificial joints in the orthopedic field (such as hip joints, knee joints, elbow joints) and dental applications like orthodontic wires and denture bases. COBARION is alloyed through a vacuum melting method and is supplied to the market as round bars after undergoing various heat treatment processes.
