Fast charging common detailed explanation

(Term Explanation) The world of smartphone charging is rapidly evolving and filled with new terms, so here is a brief explanation.

- Fast charging: An abbreviation for quick charging. Additionally, it is referred to as rapid charging or high-speed charging by docomo, but since the abbreviation does not fit well, we will standardize it as fast charging here. Explanation of fast charging operation: Built-in QC/PD compatible IC charger → QC/PD cable with an additional signal line → When charging a smartphone: - When the smartphone is QC/PD compatible, the charging voltage progresses as follows: DC 12V 1.5A → 9V 2A → 5V 3A. As charging progresses, the IC control changes the charging voltage from 12V to 5V, protecting the smartphone while charging in about one hour. - When the smartphone is not QC/PD compatible, charging is possible only at 5V. Moreover, since the charger/cable is designed for high current, it can charge faster than the standard 1A charger/cable usually provided with smartphones. Note: Caution against overheating on the smartphone side!
