[Case Study] Oil Monitoring/Warning System

By implementing IDAS and IP CCTV systems, a monitoring/warning system for the oil refining facility has been established!

In the oil refining facilities in Arabia, there was a need for an IDAS and IP CCTV security system to correspond with the on-site and management bases. To support video, audio, and data transmission via WAN, the on-site base connected analog cameras to an Ethernet ring using Moxa's VPort 364 industrial video encoder and automated intrusion sensors using the ioLogik 2542 smart Ethernet I/O. At the same time, high-bandwidth Gigabit fiber optics were used in a redundant ring topology for the backbone. The SCADA system and VMS were reliably integrated with I/O events and distributed data collectors, enabling a real-time security and alert system. [Case Study] ■ Industry: Oil ■ Purpose: Establish a monitoring/alert system ■ Products Used: VPort 364A-T, ioLogik 2542-T, EDS-510E *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Stabilization of the Distribution System Network

Enhancing the reliability of wireless I/O solutions in dam water distribution systems!

The dam's water distribution system is closely linked to the supply of water and its users in commercial and industrial sectors. The distribution system not only performs water treatment but also reliably supplies tap water to users through pipelines laid over long distances. Applications generally face difficulties in accessing wired network infrastructure, and systemization incurs high costs. In many cases, such distribution networks require the use of cellular data collection solutions for signal transmission between remote sites and control centers. [Case Study] - Industry: Dam (Water Distribution System) - Purpose: Network Stabilization - Products Used: ioLogik2500, ioLogik1300, ioLogik1200 *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Oil and Gas Device Monitoring

A case study on the construction of a real-time device monitoring system for oil and natural gas!

The digital oilfield system implemented to monitor pressure, temperature, and the flow rates of multiple oil drilling devices in order to reduce non-productive time (NPT) during drilling uses a remote monitoring system. By improving production at each drilling site and promptly sending alarms, the engineers of the oil company can respond immediately in the event of an emergency. [Case Study] ■ Industry: Oil and Gas ■ Purpose: Establishment of a device monitoring system ■ Products Implemented: ioLogik2500, ioLogikE1200, MX-AOPC UA Suite *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Power Plant Data Transmission

This is a case where a Modbus gateway was introduced to ensure a continuous power supply!

Many industrial facilities are equipped with their own generators to ensure a stable power supply. In one facility, there was a need to transmit large volumes of Modbus RTU monitoring information from power RTUs, electronic devices, and power meters to a SCADA system operating over a Modbus TCP network via a network when monitoring a small generator. This required the introduction of a gateway suitable for industrial applications. As a result of implementing the "MGate MB3170/3270," it became possible to easily wire multiple Modbus gateways in a cascade connection due to the dual Ethernet ports. [Case Study] ■ Industry: Power Generation Facility ■ Purpose of Implementation: Transmission of large-capacity monitoring data ■ Product Implemented: MGate MB3170/3270 *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Data Center Energy Management

This is a case of implementing a highly redundant Modbus gateway that facilitates easy network integration!

Data centers and server rooms consume a large amount of energy. It is said that many facilities spend nearly 25% of their total operating budget on energy consumption, and one facility wanted to measure and manage the energy consumption across the entire facility using power meters installed throughout the facility. As a result of implementing the "MGate MB3660 series," it became easy to achieve integrated design while converting between Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU/ASCII protocols. [Case Study] ■ Industry: Data Center ■ Purpose of Implementation: Management of Energy Consumption ■ Product Implemented: MGate MB3660 Series *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Oil Field Data Monitoring

A case of real-time data monitoring of a drilling rig while maintaining existing control settings!

A major company providing oil field solutions faced significant challenges when disposing of the PROFIBUS interface cards they were using at the time. These cards were a key component of the control system, responsible for sending mission-critical data in real-time to the display panels of operational stations, enabling drilling operators to instantly identify issues such as drilling rig failures, flow anomalies, and depressurization. As a result, this oil and gas company needed to find an easy-to-implement, cost-effective product to replace this mission-critical component. [Case Study] ■ Industry: Oil Field Solutions ■ Purpose: Cost-effective data monitoring ■ Product Implemented: MGate 5101-PBM-MN Series *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Energy Control/Monitoring

Introducing EtherNet/IP gateway! Build a backup system with easy setup/maintenance.

To improve energy efficiency, many factories use VFDs to control electric motors that operate pumps and fans, optimizing power consumption. However, while VFD communication modules and PLC Modbus modules can be easily connected for remote monitoring purposes, they are very expensive and require a lot of effort for installation. Therefore, we were considering the introduction of a cost-effective gateway that meets the requirements of Modbus communication. [Case Study] ■ Industry: Energy ■ Purpose of Implementation: HVAC Control/Monitoring ■ Product Implemented: "MGate 5105-MB-EIP" *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Transportation: Intersection Distributed Traffic Management System

Secure traffic signal control using public networks! We will introduce case studies of implementation at intersections.

In Henrico County, USA, it was decided to upgrade the existing closed-loop traffic signal control system to a distributed traffic management system capable of managing traffic signals at 140 intersections. Before the upgrade, only 25 intersections were interconnected, while the remaining 115 intersections used isolated signal control circuits. The new signal network is based on a distributed architecture, with a central operation center communicating with the signal controllers at each site via the public network for real-time monitoring and emergency response. [Case Study] ■ Industry: Transportation (Intersections) ■ Purpose of Implementation: Distributed Traffic Management System ■ Product Implemented: "EDR-810" *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Data Collection via Power RTU

Introduction to the redundant serial-to-Ethernet communication case of the power supply control center!

The power automation system mainly consists of three areas: generation, transmission, and distribution. Many control centers for distribution systems collect data from RTUs via a network. The network includes dial-up connections using serial modems over PSTN, and serial-to-Ethernet solutions are required to manage multiple serial RTUs at the control center. [Case Study] ■ Industry: Power ■ Purpose: Manage serial RTUs at the control center ■ Product: CN2610-16 *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
