Reproduction of fireproof bricks and the interior of a melting furnace! A case of creating a 1/5 scale polystyrene model.

We would like to introduce a case of creating a polystyrene model of the "World Heritage" Nirayama Reverberatory Furnace. A polystyrene model at a 1/5 scale (height 3.1m) of the "World Heritage" Nirayama Reverberatory Furnace (a nationally designated historic site) was produced. We also recreated the fireproof bricks and the interior of the melting furnace. The model was installed at an event (exhibition) during the 2016 World Foundry Conference and was donated to Izunokuni City. 30 years since the release of the original G-SHOCK. A 12-fold model was planned for display at the "G-SHOCK SHOCK THE WORLD 2012" event held in New York. Overview: The "Niconico Chokaigi 2018" hosted by Dwango Co., Ltd. will take place from April 28 (Saturday) to 29 (Sunday) at Makuhari Messe. Our sponge building was displayed and adopted in a corner of this booth, the "Super Anime Area." It was a groundbreaking event where customers could tear apart and destroy the sponge building. The sponge has a softness that allows it to be torn by hand, and its size is 4 meters wide and 7 meters tall, requiring strength to withstand its size and weight. The image is a large work that brings together the full strength of our manufacturing department, a "robot" inspired by a vacuum casting machine. It took a year and a half to create, from concept to design, engineering, and production (machining, vacuum casting, gypsum casting, painting, and printing). As expected for a large work, there is a sense of accomplishment upon its completion.
