DSW Shell Chair FRP Resin Legs Walnut [Matte Black]

Reproduced furniture focused on the quality and price of E-comfort.

The Shell Chair is one of the works submitted to the "Low-Cost Furniture Design Competition," co-hosted by a nonprofit furniture organization as part of MoMA's efforts to differentiate itself from other museums by collecting modern design products in 1948, and it achieved an impressive second place. At that time, Charles Eames was trying to realize a new era of design that could be mass-produced using molded plywood, but the production with molded plywood proved to be extremely difficult. Eames did not give up on commercialization, and it was successfully realized using FRP, a new material at the time. The chair, produced by layering fiberglass wool with adhesive using a mold and finally shaping the exterior, was introduced to the world as an innovative mass-produced item. The E-comfort Shell Chair is available in six colors for the seat: black, white, gray, red, pale blue, and pale green, and you can choose between wood legs and a rod base. This is the side shell chair with wood legs. *The product is a reproduction imported and sold by E-comfort.

Organic Chair Walnut [Made to Order]

Reproduced furniture focused on the quality and price of E-comfort.

The Organic Chair was one of the works submitted to the "Organic Design in Home Furnishings" competition held by MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) in 1940, as part of its efforts to differentiate itself from other museums by collecting modern design products. As a result, the Organic Chair won first place in the chair category and represented a serious attempt to realize a new era of design that could be mass-produced using molded plywood, which Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen were working on at the time. The Organic Chair has a taste that sits right in between the booming Scandinavian interior style and mid-century design, making it compatible with both aesthetics. *The product is a reproduction imported and sold by E-comfort.
