Assist Suit: Excavation, Snow Shoveling, Grass Cutting - Reducing Arm Strain
Jointly developed product by Shimizu Corporation and Daiya Industry Co., Ltd. *Pre-order product
This is an assist suit designed to reduce the burden of excavation work using a shovel at construction sites. It is a vest type that can be worn simply by tightening the belts around the chest and waist. Weighing approximately 500g, it is very lightweight, about 1/8 the weight of electric types. The assist function is activated by the rubber fabric on the back of the vest and a shoulder-arm rubber belt that connects the upper arm opposite the dominant hand to the back. When a worker bends forward to scoop up soil with a shovel, the back fabric and shoulder-arm belt stretch, and conversely, when scooping up the soil, both fabrics attempt to contract, providing assistive force and reducing the workload. The waist belt also has a pelvic corset function that stabilizes the working posture and prevents the occurrence of lower back pain. To prevent heat stroke, the entire suit is made of mesh material to enhance breathability, and it includes a pocket for ice packs (sold separately) under the armpits for cooling.
