We would like to introduce a case study where Sato General Planning Co., Ltd. utilized Autodesk's BIM software "Revit." <Overview> Clients often present conflicting conditions, and in the past, decisions were typically made by selecting one option from two or three proposals. However, this approach did not ensure that the chosen design was truly optimal or that it could be adequately explained to the client. A perspective that expands the concept of BIM, which handles not only shapes but also information, into design, sharing, and utilization.

BIM is gaining attention as a concept that connects design, construction, and maintenance management by not only representing shapes in three dimensions but also handling information such as components and attributes. It's not just shapes that are handled in BIM [Orizuru 3D].

From drawing BIM to connecting BIM.

BIM is a concept that not only represents shapes in three dimensions but also handles information such as components and attributes, connecting the processes from design to construction and maintenance. When shapes and information are linked together, the effort of going back to separate documents for verification and sharing can be reduced. However, on-site, even if a 3D model is created, that information is often not sufficiently utilized in subsequent processes or related departments, leading to situations where documents need to be searched again for verification. While shapes are visible, if information does not flow, it can lead to delays in decision-making and discrepancies in understanding.
