We would like to introduce the first issue of Sony Academic News Petit Column!

In order to establish target cell lines (cloning), you may have started single-cell sorting and re-culturing, but have you ever experienced the feeling of wanting to improve the "survival rate and recovery rate" a bit more? However, you might not know what conditions to consider to improve such culture results. It is believed that various factors are involved in the culture results of cells after single-cell sorting, including equipment settings, the cell culture environment before and after sorting, and the physiological state of the cells before sorting. Therefore, to truly succeed in single-cell sorting, there are two main approaches: "optimization of equipment settings" and "consideration of conditions on the sample side." Regarding "optimization of equipment settings," it is specifically necessary to select a nozzle diameter suitable for cell size and to consider the sample pressure settings. *For detailed content of the column, you can refer to the PDF materials. Used for research on the regulation of gut microbiota mediated by IgA through the host's immune system!

We would like to introduce a case study of the "Cell Sorter SH800" used at the Quantitative Life Science Research Institute of the University of Tokyo. This research institute is studying how IgA produced in the intestine interacts with the intestinal microbiota. The sorter is particularly useful for this research as it can fractionate fine areas. Unlike general devices, which require the purchase of dedicated software for analysis, this is not necessary with our sorter. Additionally, we received positive feedback regarding the ability to change the sample line.
