It also ensures that the unit's input voltage (corresponding to the power supply's output voltage) typically does not fall below 21V by limiting the output to a restricted current. Therefore, if high-sensitivity devices such as PLCs, controls, and sensors are directly connected to the same power supply as the PISA protection module, a stable supply voltage can be ensured. Loads that are not as critical (which are not affected by short-term voltage interruptions but could potentially lead to a failure of the 24V power supply) are connected to one of the four current-controlled output channels built into the PISA module. This provides protection regardless of the length of the wires or the characteristics of the power supply.
