Zero Seiko, which produces precision parts related to aerospace, defense, and hydraulic equipment, discharges coolant liquid between the workpiece and the cutting tool when machining parts on a CNC lathe to suppress heat generated by cutting. Previously, they used bent copper pipes fixed with cable ties, which had some play and instability. Although the pressure was not particularly high at 2 MPa, they struggled with the time required for adjustments due to chips flying and hitting the pipes, causing changes in direction.
