A low-heat current sensor that contributes to the miniaturization of substrates!

"Currentier" is a magnetic coreless current sensor IC equipped with a high-sensitivity Hall element. Despite being a coreless type, it achieves high precision comparable to that of closed-loop systems. Compared to conventional shunt methods, it has the following advantages: 1. The resistance value of the primary conductor is low at 0.27mΩ (which helps suppress heat generation), 2. The primary side does not require a power supply, allowing for a significant reduction in board size. CZ3Axx is a magnetic coreless current sensor with built-in Hall elements and overcurrent detection functionality. It achieves a high-speed response of 1μs and high precision of 0.3% F.S., enabling the detection of various fault modes such as ground faults and arm short circuits, contributing to improved system safety. Additionally, through its unique packaging technology, it realizes a low primary conductor resistance of "0.27mΩ" and high insulation with a creepage/clearance distance of ≧8mm. This significantly reduces heat generation during current application compared to shunt resistors, and eliminates the need for a primary side power supply or amplifier for insulation, allowing overcurrent detection with just the IC.
