Case study of rack gear high-frequency hardening

We can perform high-frequency hardening of super-large rack gears!

【Conventional Issues】 High-frequency hardening of large rack gears is difficult to address without the technology for hardening one tooth at a time. Additionally, distortion occurs after high-frequency hardening, so technology for distortion correction is also necessary. 【Response from Fuji High Frequency】 Our company specializes in hardening one tooth at a time, and we can apply this technology to perform high-frequency hardening of large rack gears. Furthermore, we also correct for distortion, ensuring that the final product is shipped with a total length distortion of within 0.1mm. 【Specifications】 Material: S45C Hardness: HRC58 Depth: 2.0mm

Case study of high-frequency quenching with gripper pit.

The jagged parts will be hardened with high-frequency quenching!

【Conventional Issues】 The gripper pit is a fixture for gripping large steel pipes. I want to harden the serrated part that grips the steel pipe, but there are thin sections that pose a high risk of cracking. 【Response from Fuji High Frequency】 Regarding the serrated part that grips, it is necessary to achieve both a hardened layer depth of over 2mm and hardness, so air cooling during high-frequency quenching was chosen. This way, the risk of cracking can also be avoided. 【Specifications】 Material: SNCM439 Hardness: Hs70 Depth: 2mm

Large Ring Groove High-Frequency Hardening Case Study

With over 60 years of expertise in high-frequency hardening, we can also handle the production of difficult coils!

【Background】 Partially high-frequency hardening of the inner diameter of large rings is challenging due to the difficulty in manufacturing coils. As a result, there are only a limited number of processing companies capable of handling such projects. 【Response from Fuji High Frequency】 Utilizing over 60 years of expertise in high-frequency hardening, we carry out optimal hardening methods and coil manufacturing. For this project, we determined that cooling with air, which poses minimal risk, is the best approach. 【Specifications】 Dimensions: φ1220×φ1037×238W Material: SCM440 Hardness: HRC50 Depth: 2mm

Metal Heat Treatment Guide: What is High-Frequency Quenching?

A suitable method for steel with a carbon content of 0.3% or more! Introduction to the basics of heat treatment.

"High-frequency quenching" is a heat treatment method that induces electromagnetic induction in metals using high-frequency electromagnetic waves, overheating the surface to perform quenching. This process hardens only the surface of the metal, increasing its hardness while maintaining the original state of toughness in the interior, allowing for the creation of materials rich in flexibility. Depending on the type of steel, the surface hardness generally increases by about 1 to 2 Rockwell hardness (HRC) compared to conventional quenching. 【What is high-frequency quenching】 - It is possible to create materials rich in flexibility by hardening only the surface of the metal to increase hardness while maintaining the original state of toughness in the interior. - The surface hardness generally increases by about 1 to 2 Rockwell hardness compared to conventional quenching. - This method is mainly suitable for steel with a carbon content of 0.3% or more. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

High-frequency hardening

Partial hardening is possible! The structure is fine, resulting in excellent ductility, toughness, and fatigue strength.

"High-frequency quenching" is a process that involves rapidly heating the surface layer, allowing carbon to dissolve into the base material, maintaining a diffusion holding time of about 1 second, and then spraying a quenching agent to perform surface hardening. This treatment is applied to quenching steels containing more than 0.25% carbon, but generally, low alloy steels such as carbon steels with about 0.4 to 0.5% carbon or Cr-Mo steels with less than 0.4% carbon are commonly used. Please feel free to contact us if you have any requests. 【Features】 ■ Partial hardening is possible ■ High surface hardness, excellent wear resistance, and fatigue strength are achieved ■ High compressive stress on the surface results in excellent fatigue strength ■ Fine microstructure provides excellent ductility, toughness, and fatigue strength ■ The uneven distribution of carbon and alloying elements before hardening tends to reflect in the hardened structure and properties *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

High-frequency hardening

Widely adopted as a method to enhance the properties of metallic materials possessed by each component mechanically!

We would like to introduce our "high-frequency hardening" process. Devices and equipment collectively referred to as machinery, including automobiles, exhibit their intended functions through the forces and actions transmitted from the power unit via each of their components. High-frequency hardening is a widely adopted method for enhancing the mechanical properties by drawing out the characteristics of the metal materials possessed by these components. 【High-Frequency Hardening Process】 ■ One-shot hardening of inner diameters ■ One-shot injection hardening with workpiece rotation ■ Moving hardening *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.
