Velcro in everyday life

Velcro used for protectors! Introducing Arako Column vol. 28.

The other day, I purchased a set of protectors (knee, elbow, and hand/3-piece set) for my child's bicycle practice. I don't think I wore them when I was a child, but they seem to be quite common these days. When I tried to put them on my child, I noticed that the protectors were made up of products like hook-and-loop fasteners, W-russell, and flat rings, which are all items that Arako usually handles, and I suddenly thought that it might be possible to create them. Since I have never approached a company that makes protectors before, I am considering making a proposal in the future. It seems there is still a lot I can contribute to an industry I am not yet familiar with. *For more details on the column, you can view it through the related links. Surprisingly many types of AK tape installations.

Types of methods for attaching hook-and-loop fasteners! Introducing Arako Column vol. 23.

The official name of AK tape is "hook and loop fastener." In Japan, the trademark "Magic Tape" from Kuraray may be more familiar. Various companies sell it under different trademarks such as "Velcro" and "Quickron." When the general public hears "hook and loop fastener," they often associate it with items like bags, lids, and the belt parts of sneakers, leading to the perception that it is something that is sewn on. However, there are many different methods for attaching hook and loop fasteners. *For more details on the column, you can view it through the related links. The itchy spot of the hook-and-loop fastener.

Explanation of the peeling of hook-and-loop fasteners! Introducing Arako Column vol. 6.

Because I love hook-and-loop fasteners, I will dare to talk about the itchy spots of hook-and-loop fasteners. This applies to all hook-and-loop fasteners, including those from other manufacturers. I play baseball on the weekends. Almost everyone who plays baseball uses batting gloves like the ones in the photo when batting. There are various designs and grip strengths, and each manufacturer puts effort into their products. Almost 100% of batting gloves have our hook-and-loop fasteners attached. *For more details on the column, you can view it through the related link. The hook-and-loop fasteners widely used in baseball fields! Introducing Arako Column vol. 18.

Did you know that many hook-and-loop fasteners are used in baseball fields? The most common use is for attaching protective covers near the benches and fences. They are usually secured by attaching with hook-and-loop fasteners and threading a cord through eyelets. Hook-and-loop fasteners are really used in a variety of places. *For more details on the column, you can view it through the related links. Please feel free to contact us for more information.*

Do you know why it is called a hook-and-loop fastener?

Fastening with face to face! Introducing Arako Column vol. 7.

I have mentioned before that AK tape and Velcro are actually trademarks. AK tape is a trademark of our company, Araco. Velcro is a trademark of Kuraray. Quicklon is a trademark of YKK. While there are some differences in specifications depending on the company, I believe they generally serve the same purpose. *You can view the detailed content of the column through the related links. Velcro on underground tabi (traditional Japanese footwear).

If it's a hook-and-loop type of underground tabi, it can be put on and taken off in 3 seconds! Introducing Arako Column vol. 10.

In my hometown of Hamamatsu City, there is an event called the Hamamatsu Festival held every year. Because of this, people from Hamamatsu have the opportunity to wear tabi (traditional split-toe socks) from a relatively young age. The fasteners on the tabi use Velcro, but at some point, my classmates started teasing me, saying, "You're still using Velcro?" Unbeknownst to me, the image of Velcro being something for children had been ingrained in me, and I became embarrassed and asked to be bought adult-sized tabi. *For more details on the column, you can view it through the related links. Arako Column Vol. 3 "The Evolution of Hook and Loop Fasteners"

Inspired by the wild burdock seeds stuck to my clothes and my beloved dog, I started my research!

I will convey the evolution of hook-and-loop fasteners once again. It all began in 1941 when I was climbing the Alps and got the idea from the wild burdock seeds that stuck to my clothes and my beloved dog. Research started in 1948. A patent was filed in 1951, and it was certified in 1955. In 1952, Velcro S.A. was established in Switzerland, producing hook-and-loop fasteners while also licensing to companies in various countries and establishing local subsidiaries, producing under the name "Velcro." *For detailed content of the column, please refer to the related links.
