At the Niigata factory of Hokuetsu Corporation, which produces various paper products, a consistent production process is carried out from wood chips to pulp and then to paper products. About 70% of the electricity and steam energy at this factory is obtained by burning black liquor, which is generated during the process of producing pulp from wood chips, in a recovery boiler. Black liquor is a biomass energy derived from wood, contributing to carbon neutrality through thermal recycling, and the Niigata factory produces paper products with 70% CO2 zero energy. Tokyu Construction Co., Ltd. is a comprehensive construction company engaged in a wide range of construction and civil engineering projects, including civil infrastructure such as railways, roads, tunnels, and bridges, as well as buildings, residences, and logistics centers. As part of such projects, we are currently working on seismic reinforcement construction for facilities. In this construction, we are utilizing IBIS to investigate waterways, including accumulated sludge. In this survey, we flew the IBIS in a 50-meter-long waterway to capture video, from which we created 3D data. Additionally, this 3D data allows for the measurement of sludge accumulation, and its high accuracy has been well received.
