[Case Study] Automating Manual Processes to Reduce Work-in-Progress Inventory
Supply time to the next process is JUST IN! Transitioning to production that only processes what is necessary reduces WIP.
The turret punching press we were using had aged, significantly affecting product accuracy. During the so-called bypass processing, seams appeared in the cut areas, which did not look good, so we were considering the introduction of a laser processing machine. We then introduced our product. After the introduction, we were able to eliminate manual processes, significantly improving work efficiency. Additionally, the elimination of seams in the bypass areas removed the need for filing and rework. Not only did quality improve and stabilize, but we were also able to eliminate finishing work, further increasing work efficiency. 【Case Overview】 ■Industry: Industrial Machinery Manufacturer ■Product Shape: Panel Shape ■Plate Thickness: 0.8t to 3.2t ■Material: SUS, SECC, SPCC *For more details, please refer to the related link page or feel free to contact us.
