[Case Study] Konan University Rugby Club

The locker room has been renovated as part of the 100th anniversary project of the rugby club.

As part of the 100th anniversary project in 2024, we carried out a renovation of the clubroom lockers. Since last year, we have been obtaining estimates and conducting on-site surveys for the locker renovation project, and through a series of discussions, we initially considered replacing the lockers and benches with conventional types (the same as the current ones). However, upon investigating the current state of locker rooms in sports facilities both domestically and internationally, we found that the convenience of "sports lockers" is high, leading us to conclude that introducing this type would be the best decision for the next 30 years. Ultimately, we obtained estimates from four vendors, and after thorough discussions at the board meeting, we decided to place an order with Nibari Works, located in Higashi-Osaka City, due to their excellent past production and installation track record, as well as the convenience of maintenance in the future. After the construction, we have received feedback from club members such as, "It feels like I've come to a different room!" "My motivation has increased significantly!" and "I will continue to use it carefully!" We would like to express our gratitude for the tremendous support we received regarding the replacement of the clubroom lockers.

Nesting refers to the process of combining and arranging multiple parts from steel materials. Its purpose is to reduce material waste. Specifically, how can we improve material yield and achieve efficient machine operation? In the era when turret punch presses were the main machinery, steel was purchased in sketch material sized to fit each part, and it was common to process each piece individually. However, as laser-turret punch combination machines became the mainstay, the method shifted to purchasing standard-sized materials for processing. Consequently, CAM software transitioned from AP100 to Dr. ABE, giving rise to the culture of nesting. However, using standard sizes for each product as in the past resulted in poor yield, leading to increased material costs and a tendency for product costs to rise.

[Delivery Example] Spike Locker (Kintetsu Liners)

The rugby team, Kintetsu Liners, placed an order for sports lockers in April of this year, and we have additionally produced lockers for spikes.

We carefully discussed issues such as the shoe sizes of the athletes and the space for installation, allowing us to carry out the installation work in-house. Since it will be used outdoors, we have made adjustments such as using acrylic paint for the coating.

At the request of an IT-related company, we delivered a storage cabinet for 100 tablets that fits neatly on the office wall.

This is a locker with a combination lock type that can manage 100 tablets (50 slots × 2 units). It features a 4-digit combination setting and double locking with a key, enhancing the security level. While there have been many successful lockers for sharing mobile phones and computers, this is the first time a locker has been designed to store such a large number of tablets. It has been successfully customized with size and slot settings tailored to the items being stored.
