Strengths of Pressure Vessels & Heat Exchangers 3 [Problem-Solving Ability (Case 2)]
Example of solving water leaks in heat exchanger gasket areas | We solve our customers' problems with accumulated design and welding technology know-how!
At KEI Corporation, we aim to be a company that is trusted and loved by our customers by accurately understanding and addressing their requests and issues, proposing beneficial solutions, and providing services that stand by our customers. 【Proposal Points for Problem Solving】 ■ Creation of drawings and strength calculation documents in-house according to various regulations ■ Suggestions for materials and manufacturing processes based on requests ■ Identification and proposals regarding regulatory issues with existing pressure vessels 【Case Study】 ■ Before Improvement ■ Water leakage from the full-face flange gasket area cannot be stopped. We are troubled because the results remain the same even after torque management and re-tightening. ↓ ■ Proposal Content ■ Upon calculating the full-face flange, it was found that the total cross-sectional area of the bolts was insufficient compared to the required total cross-sectional area. - Changed bolt classification from 4.8 to 8.8 - Changed gasket thickness from 1.5mm to 3mm to reduce necessary torque ↓ ■ After Improvement ■ Leakage stopped and the issue was resolved.
