In a joint initiative between the town of Osaki in Kagoshima Prefecture, which boasts the highest recycling rate in Japan, and AUCNET IBS, a "demonstration experiment for sharing know-how on composting kitchen waste" has begun. The "Leyline" from Advanet has been adopted as a wireless temperature sensor device to collect data necessary for temperature management during the composting process. It is equipped with connectors that allow various sensors to be connected, enabling easy data collection and actuator control via LoRaWAN. This product is a fire memory sensor with a set temperature of 80°C. It features a shape memory alloy attached to a wire in a coiled form, creating an integrated product. When the surrounding temperature reaches 80°C, the wire softens, and the shape memory alloy constricts the wire (restoring it) to short-circuit the two wires, generating a temperature sensing signal (80°C). It can be installed in equipment or locations at risk of fire, alerting the surroundings with alarms to prevent fires and providing daily monitoring with zero standby power for the switching function, making it an eco-friendly technology product. It is a non-resettable type, allowing for fire confirmation after activation.
