Glossary of Thermostat Terms
This is an introduction to terms such as differential (response) tolerance (tolerance).
This is an introduction to the glossary of thermostat terminology. ● Differential (DIFF.) refers to the temperature difference in the ON/OFF state (also known as hysteresis). Control-type thermostats can maintain high precision in temperature control due to their small ON/OFF differential, but if the differential is too small, it can lead to an increased number of operations, resulting in a shorter lifespan. Therefore, it is important to select the optimal differential in the design. ● Tolerance refers to the allowable precision values for settings such as the target temperature. It is expressed as OFF setting value: 30℃±3 (℃) and DIFF.: 3–6 (℃). For more details, please download the catalog.
