A product that helps prevent valve damage by knowing the appropriate tightening torque to avoid valve breakage, bending of the valve stem, and damage to the threaded portion.
Valves such as shut-off valves and fire hydrants may experience damage, bending of the valve stem, or damage to the threads due to excessive torque during opening and closing. The torque limiter prevents excessive torque from being applied to the target valve during operation by slipping (freewheeling) when the set torque is exceeded, thereby neutralizing the excessive torque that would burden the valve. During freewheeling, this device turns with a clicking action, making it easy to determine when torque has been applied. Features: - The body is made of stainless steel (SCS13), providing excellent corrosion resistance and durability, allowing for safe use over an extended period. - It can withstand approximately 10,000 freewheeling (slipping) operations as a guideline for usage. If the number of uses exceeds this, the operating torque of the limiter may decrease due to spring fatigue. This product features capabilities not found in standard torque limiters, such as allowing temporary overloads to slip while continuing operation. This product is based on the design of Safeset and is equipped with a device that controls slip in response to transient overloads. *If a dangerous overload persists, the slip control device will activate, ultimately releasing the coupling and completely interrupting torque transmission.*
