Latest Development Trends, Outlook, Evaluation, and Measurement Methods of Vacuum Insulation Materials for Residential and Building Materials
A roadmap for the mandatory insulation of buildings has been announced, further accelerating the development of residential insulation materials! How will it be applied to building materials?
**Lecture Content** Energy conservation is an important issue for our country, and the significance of insulation materials used for this purpose goes without saying. Recently, a roadmap for mandatory insulation in buildings was announced, and the obligation for insulation will be implemented sequentially starting with large-scale buildings. In order to enhance the thermal insulation of buildings in the future, simply increasing the thickness of insulation materials has its limits. Therefore, the development of high-performance insulation materials is urgently needed, and various insulation materials, including VIP (Vacuum Insulation Panels), are being developed. Taking VIP as an example, its thermal conductivity is less than one-tenth that of conventional insulation materials, which leads to issues with measurement accuracy when using traditional thermal conductivity measurement devices. There are many considerations to address in order to measure low thermal conductivity materials like VIP with a level of uncertainty comparable to that of conventional insulation materials. This lecture will explain the issues and solutions related to evaluating low thermal conductivity materials, aiming to contribute to future material development.
