Fluid analysis software for valves, 'Simerics MP+'

Simulate the flow characteristics of valves and volumetric pumps! A CFD software specialized in valves and pumps, which other CFD software struggles with!

Simerics MP+ is a fluid simulation tool designed to calculate the transient characteristics of various valves, pumps, and compressors. It is developed based on the thermal fluid simulation tool Simerics MP and utilizes all the features of Simerics MP. 【The following fluid analyses are possible】 ■ Free surface flow ■ Flow considering the compressibility of air contained in liquids ■ Pressure pulsation and water hammer ■ Coupling of pump flow with the rigid body motion of valves and cam rings ■ Flow in low to medium vacuum conditions ■ Compressible flow (subsonic) ■ Cavitation ■ Time variation of flow field (velocity vectors, pressure), flow rate, fluid forces, and torque The greatest strength is the ability to automatically create meshes even for clearances in the µm range, which is difficult for other general-purpose fluid analysis software!! In addition to valve analysis, there has been an increase in achievements with oil pumps for automotive and construction machinery, such as vane pumps for power steering and CVTs, and trochoidal pumps for engine lubrication. *There is a lot of information that cannot be posted online. Especially, please see the demo for actual mesh creation and movement!!

Analyze large-scale and complex fluid phenomena using the solutions of the Japan Cadence NUMECA sales team for quick and easy resolution!

To achieve better manufacturing, it is necessary to efficiently combine experiments, measurements, and numerical simulations. Numerical simulations, particularly fluid analysis, have become capable of simulating much larger and more intricate phenomena than before, thanks to improvements in computer performance. However, it is still likely that considerable effort and time are required for the analysis of large-scale and complex phenomena. At the "Japan Cadence NUMECA Sales Team Conference 2019" held on June 4-5, we will introduce how customers can easily and quickly solve the advanced and complex problems they face by utilizing the solutions provided by the Japan Cadence NUMECA Sales Team. Many actual users will also present their experiences. [Program Introduction (Excerpt)] ■ Progress of application cases in Honda turbo machinery ■ Utilization of AutoGrid5 for high-precision performance prediction of aircraft engines ■ Case studies on the use of FINE/Turbo in gas turbine development ■ Use of global optimization methods in aerodynamic design problems, etc. *For more details, please download the PDF or contact us.

Graflux

Leave the fluid analysis of "large and complex" products to Graflux. It is a mesh-free fluid analysis software.

By using a particle method that replaces fluids with particles, it enables mesh-free analysis of complex and rapidly changing flows. For example, this includes fluid within devices (such as mixing tanks, pumps, engines), the flow of molten metal in casting, and water flow during natural disasters like floods. Benefits of Graflux: - No need for mesh creation (the larger and more complex the product, the greater the advantage) - Can represent free surfaces, allowing for phenomena such as splashes to be depicted - The quality of analysis results does not deteriorate due to mesh quality issues caused by deformation - Particle generation can also be done automatically, and the generation time is fast While reducing particle size for reproducibility can lead to longer computation times, utilizing GPGPU allows for overwhelming reductions in computation time.

Shape optimization of the rear wing using sensitivity analysis.

The parametric model is created in CAESES, and the adjoint solutions obtained from the commercial CFD tool are mapped to the design variables!

In this case study, we conducted optimization regarding the drag and downforce (negative lift generated by a moving vehicle) of a sports car's rear wing. For this optimization, a parametric model of the rear wing was created using CAESES, and the adjoint solutions obtained from a commercial CFD tool were mapped to the design variables. *For more details, you can view the related links. Optimization of the piston bowl

In the development of engine combustion processes, 3D CFD analysis is an important tool!

Diesel engines need to focus on reducing fuel consumption while maintaining high performance standards. From this perspective, direct-injection turbo diesel engines are one attractive solution, and when developing these engines, reducing fuel consumption and maintaining high performance standards, along with reducing exhaust emissions, become important challenges. Both issues of fuel consumption and emissions can be addressed through mechanisms within the engine. In the development of the engine combustion process, 3D CFD analysis is an important tool that allows for the investigation of flow within the cylinder, the formation and combustion of the internal mixture, as well as the formation of exhaust products. *For more detailed information, please refer to the related links. For further details, you can download the PDF or feel free to contact us.*

[Today's ANSYS] Utilized for water flow simulation (LIXIL)

We would like to introduce an interview article with Mr. Manabu Umeda and Mr. Shinichi Sagara from LIXIL Corporation!

I would like to introduce information about how CAE and CFD are useful in the world, including interesting application examples, primarily through articles from the information magazine "ADVANTAGE" published by ANSYS, Inc. and ANSYS Japan Co., Ltd. This time, we will present an interview article with Mr. Manabu Umeda and Mr. Shinichi Sagara from LIXIL Corporation, who are utilizing flow analysis of toilet products in the design and development of new products. There are various fluid analysis tools available, but the reason for choosing ANSYS Fluent is that it can simulate products such as toilets and bathtubs, which are composed of curved surfaces. One of the benefits of introducing simulation is "visualization." Since ceramic toilets can only be visually inspected up to the point where water accumulates, it is not possible to see the condition of the drainage path. With simulation, it is possible to confirm the internal flow on the drainage side, allowing for appropriate measures to be taken based on simulation results, rather than relying solely on the intuition and experience of the designers. *For more details, please download the PDF or contact us.*

Screw compressor mesher "SCORG"

SCORG is a measurement software for the design and analysis of screw compressors, expanders, pumps, and motors.

Our strength lies in the ability to generate meshes for various computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software. For example, we can integrate with most commercial CFD solvers such as Simerics MP, Ansys CFX, and STAR-CCM+, as well as engineering software. We can create complex meshes for screw compressors without being dependent on the solver. By using SCORG solely for the creation of complex meshes like those for twin-screw pumps and compressors while continuing to use your familiar solver, you can significantly reduce the cumbersome effort involved in analysis. Additionally, you can perform simulations by leveraging existing know-how without having to learn a new solver, which drastically reduces both the effort and cost compared to switching solvers. We also have a case study on fluid analysis (CFD) of twin-screw compressors that we presented at the Japan Society of Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers. Please contact us for more details.
