Proposal for manufacturing DX and IoT from IRO made possible by RFID.
IRO provides environmentally durable RFID solutions to various industries, including social infrastructure (manhole covers, power plants, etc.), automotive (painting processes, CFRP integration, etc.), and medical (tablet manufacturing, etc.).
This environmental durability refers to the ability to embed RFID in metals, which cannot be accommodated by label RFIDs used in apparel and logistics or general metal-compatible RFIDs. It withstands temperatures up to 200°C, exposure to shock and vibration, organic solvents, and harsh conditions such as accumulation of snow, ice, water, and sediment.
For example, the iron covers of manholes used in social infrastructure. The evaluation tests for the RFID stored inside these covers are conducted using a wear testing machine for asphalt roads. Tests are performed at a temperature of 60°C, simulating summer conditions, with metal rollers applying pressure, and at -10°C, simulating winter conditions, with metal chains striking the covers. Additionally, tests are conducted to simulate conditions buried under snow, freezing, flooding, and debris or rubble caused by natural disasters.
