Grundfos is one of the world's leading pump manufacturers, boasting an annual production of approximately 16 million units and employing around 19,000 people. Its headquarters is located in Bjerringbro, Denmark, and it has over 80 locations in more than 55 countries, supplying pumps everywhere. The Japanese subsidiary, Grundfos Pumps Co., Ltd., is headquartered in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, and ships about 300,000 pumps annually. Through a streamlined and unique logistics system, it achieves an extremely rapid delivery system. With sales offices in nine locations nationwide, it responds meticulously to customer needs. Additionally, through continuous efforts to improve product operability, reliability, energy efficiency, and effectiveness, it contributes to enhancing customers' energy efficiency and reducing total costs.
Business Activities
■ Sales of Grundfos products (vertical inline pumps, coolant pumps, horizontal pumps, submersible pumps, motors, sensors, etc.) through knockdown at the Hamamatsu factory, import sales, and after-sales service. ■ Exports related to economic cooperation projects. To contribute to climate change measures by reducing the power consumption of pumps, which is said to account for about 20% of global electricity consumption, we have enabled overall pump efficiency by making all products compliant with the ErP Directive (Eco Design Directive) mandated in Europe since 2015, the first in Japan. For motors, we standardize on IE3, and in 2018, we launched smart pumps equipped with motors equivalent to high-efficiency level IE5, integrated with control controllers.
