The Flow Control K-type Automatic Constant Flow Valve uses a cartridge with a specific flow rate. When the operating differential pressure range is not met, it functions as a fixed orifice. (Until the design flow rate is reached, it operates under the authority of the control valve in the same circuit.) Once it enters the operating differential pressure range, the opening of the cartridge orifice is automatically adjusted until the specified flow rate is supplied. (As the differential pressure increases, the opening of the orifice closes, and as it decreases, the opening of the orifice opens.) When exceeding the operating differential pressure range, the valve becomes a fixed orifice device again. This prevents all openings from closing, as the port at the top of the cartridge cap ensures that there are no areas of insufficient flow in the system and reliably prevents cutoff operation.

The FlowCon SM series valves are dynamic temperature control valves used in HVAC systems that control the flow of fluid to specific terminal devices or coils.
