It is ideal for use as a wind direction and speed meter for weather stations, as it can operate under diverse weather conditions. The design is robust and highly reliable due to the use of engineering plastics. It boasts excellent low power consumption of 0.4mA at 5VDC (at a sampling rate of 1Hz). The internal sensing element is made of a thermopile (a collection of thermocouples), and the small voltage output generated by the temperature difference between the front and back of the sensor is converted into heat flow by multiplying it by a sensor-specific coefficient. The CHF-FHF06, like the conventional model CHF-FHF05, is flexible and features an integrated T-type thermocouple, along with a thermal spacer to reduce dependence on thermal conductivity.
