The Specific Chemical Substance Hazard Prevention Regulations (Special Regulations) are… A ministerial ordinance established by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare based on the Labor Safety and Health Act, which sets safety standards for the handling of specific chemical substances (special substances) that can cause health hazards if not handled properly. This regulation stipulates that in businesses handling products with a concentration of special substances exceeding the specified amount, measures must be taken to prevent workers from absorbing these substances into their bodies, including requirements for equipment, work methods, health examinations, and work environment measurements that businesses must adhere to. In recent years, regulations have been strengthened due to successive amendments to the ordinance, necessitating compliance. The Special Regulations Response Series is an environmentally friendly product designed to reduce the management burden associated with compliance with the Special Regulations.
