The process of quickly generating a very thin film of aluminum oxide (Al2O3) by chemically reacting with oxygen in the air is commonly referred to as "anodizing." Formally, it is called aluminum anodic oxidation film, and typically has a thickness of 3 to 12 μm, while hard anodizing can achieve thicknesses of over 50 μm depending on the material. Typically, a hard and thick film with a thickness of 20 to 30 micrometers or more is obtained, resulting in high insulation properties. Anodizing is performed by passing current through an electrolytic solution to generate the film, which heats up due to Joule heating.
