In the June 2024 issue of the magazine "Mechatronics," an article about our "current sensor for current waveform measurement using optical probes," the "OpECS" product, was featured on the News Flash page.

Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (Principal Investigator: Professor Yasuhiro Takagi, Graduate School of Engineering), Tokushima University (Co-Investigator: Professor Kenji Yamamoto, Associate Professor Haruki Mizukawa), Waseda University (Co-Investigator: Professor Takeo Miyake), Citizen Fine Devices Co., Ltd., and Seed Co., Ltd. have been selected for the public recruitment project of the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) regarding the Innovative Information and Communication Technology (Beyond 5G (6G)) Fund Project Element Technology and Seed Creation Program. Moving forward, we will engage in research and development under the theme of "Development of Innovative Fundamental Technologies to Realize Holographic Contact Lens Displays." Citizen Fine Device Co., Ltd. has developed the world's first current sensor for measuring current waveforms using an optical probe, called "OpECS." It enables accurate current measurement primarily for high-frequency, high-current power semiconductors. This product will be available for sale starting in late April. ■ Main Features 1. Structure of OpECS - Composed of a sensor part with an optical probe and a control unit. - By connecting to an oscilloscope, the measured current can be confirmed as a waveform. 2. High-frequency and high-current measurements are possible through magneto-optical measurement using the optical probe. 3. The ultra-small sensor head allows for current measurements in confined spaces. 4. No noise interference, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. 5. Can also be utilized in the field of magnetic field measurement. Sales of OpECS in the domestic market will begin in late April 2024. In preparation for the launch in the domestic market, a sales agency agreement has been concluded with Iwasaki Communication Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Suginami-ku, Tokyo; President: Shogo Kimura), a major manufacturer of measuring instruments. This partnership will enable sales to commence through Iwasaki Communication's distribution network.
