U-nut
The U-nut is a locking nut that incorporates a "metal ring anti-loosening feature." It integrates the nut body and a friction ring (a special spring) through a riveting process. When a bolt is screwed into the U-nut, the friction ring begins to deform, pressing against the bolt's threaded surface. The force generated by the elasticity of the friction ring, along with the force that pushes against the threaded flange surface, creates a pre-torque (friction torque) that acts as the anti-loosening mechanism. Having been around for over 60 years, the U-nut is widely supported in the industry as a synonym for locking nuts and is active in various sectors, including motorcycles, cars, machine tools, railways, bridges, and construction.
