We would like to introduce a case of support provided by our "Ideation TRIZ" to a mechanical parts manufacturer. Regarding a component of our main product, the automobile engine, we attempted to invent a new structure to improve its performance and apply for a patent, only to find that the same invention had already been patented in Japan by a German manufacturer. We considered giving up on the patent application, but at the suggestion of our consultant, we held a workshop to generate new inventions aimed at solving the problem that our invention was addressing. As a result, six inventions were created, and we applied for patents, five of which were granted. The development team at the company was struggling with a significant issue in the new laser device they were developing and requested our assistance as they could not find a decisive solution. This solution successfully resolved the issue, and additionally, new secondary effects were achieved, further enhancing the device's performance. Many teams involved in research, development, and production technology for new product development had unresolved technical issues for periods ranging from 10 years to 6 months. In response, we conducted a pilot project for problem-solving using our service. As a result, all teams were able to generate solutions, and the savings from being able to produce solutions in a short time were estimated to be at least 10 million yen due to reduced labor costs.
