Free membership registrationPCB assembly may seem simple at first glance, but it is actually a process fraught with many pitfalls. For example, a certain IC manufacturer recommends that components have a GND and heat dissipation terminal on the bottom surface, and that through-holes be drilled on the PCB side to assist with heat dissipation. PCB designers faithfully follow the instructions in the datasheet and design lands with drilled through-holes. However, when they power up the shiny new boards that were designed with utmost care and assembled with the latest equipment, some of them do not work. Indeed. As some of you may have noticed, in the relationship between such terminals and lands, the solder paste applied with a metal mask can be sucked into the through-holes drilled for heat dissipation, resulting in an insufficient amount of solder to properly solder the GND and heat dissipation terminal on the bottom of the IC to the land on the PCB. Furthermore, both the client who selected the components and the assembly site were unaware of the existence of the through-holes. Electro-System recognizes that preventing such unexpected defects through knowledge, experience, and a sense of responsibility is the added value in PCB assembly, and they are continuously building on their daily training and efforts.

Free membership registrationThe purpose of the division of labor between circuit design and printed circuit board (PCB) design (artwork) was to improve operational efficiency. However, in today's design of high-speed digital circuit boards, this division of labor is becoming a hindrance. It goes without saying that to ensure stable operation of such printed circuit boards in one go, it is necessary to possess a wide range of PCB design techniques while understanding the characteristics of the circuits and components used, on par with circuit designers. At Electro-System Co., Ltd., veteran engineers who are well-versed in the design of high-speed digital circuits, the I/O characteristics of the latest FPGAs, and transmission line theory are directly involved in PCB design. They accurately carry out tasks such as routing according to circuit specifications, length matching, impedance control, through-hole placement, capacitor-resistor placement, and considerations for shielding while designing printed circuit boards. Additionally, regarding transmission line simulation, which is essential for the design of high-speed digital circuit boards, we achieve cost reduction in simulation by using our own original simulator. (Our developed simulator is sold as "CADLUS Sim" by NISOL Co., Ltd.)

Free membership registrationThe usefulness of transmission line simulators in the design of printed circuit boards for high-speed signals is a common understanding among PCB designers. On the other hand, despite the necessity being understood, many companies and PCB designers hesitate to adopt transmission line simulators based on the perception that "operating transmission line simulators has a high technical hurdle, and the introduction cost is also significant. Furthermore, since they are foreign-made, they are difficult to use and support is a concern..." In light of this situation, Electro-System has developed an original transmission line simulator that combines ease of use and low cost, allowing all designers to use it in their daily design work. Our transmission line simulator is sold as "CADLUS Sim" by NISOL Corporation. *Publication of Simulation Data Our company is involved in various activities to improve the accuracy of transmission line simulations and publishes simulation results in the IBIS Quality Framework of the EDA Standard Working Group of the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) EC Center. (Publication of results requires accuracy verification by the same working group.)

Free membership registrationThe "Setup Master" was developed based on requests from the printed circuit board assembly field. By narrowing down the functions to only those truly needed on-site, it has become a practical tool that anyone can use. By using the "Setup Master," the following can be achieved: ● The time required for production is reduced to 1/3 to 1/5 compared to manual drawing creation. (According to our research) ● By eliminating human errors that occur during manual drawing creation, the quality of assembly is improved. ● Using the retrofitted navigation function enhances the efficiency and quality of manual work. (The retrofitted work navigation displays the assembly positions on the PC screen's assembly drawing in a pre-set order.) ● By using it for visual inspection, it is possible to reliably determine assembly errors.
