We received a presentation on the use cases of 3D scanners from 3D Systems. [Title] "Transforming the World of Logistics Packaging and Expanding Business through Reverse Engineering with Geomagic Design X" [Overview] In transport packaging, the most important factor is how accurately the outer shape of the product can be traced. The use of reverse engineering with Geomagic Design X holds the key. Recently, we were interviewed by NHK Morioka Broadcasting Station. In the midst of the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we were interviewed about our efforts in developing products to prevent droplet infection. The panels created by our employees for our cafeteria and reception area marked the beginning of our new product development. Due to our presence on the internet, product development progressed rapidly, and we were interviewed about the collaboration with Senshin Medical Co., Ltd. and Kyoei Print Research Institute Co., Ltd. in developing disposable splash guards in response to requests from Kyorin University Hospital. The following two programs are scheduled to air. As economic activities are gradually returning, our company is prioritizing the safety of employees, their families, and stakeholders, including customers, in light of the ongoing spread of the novel coronavirus, for which a resolution is still not in sight. We have renewed the "splash prevention panels for cafeterias," which we received much feedback on from our customers! Experiments using the supercomputer "Fugaku" revealed that to expect effective splash prevention, a height of over 140 cm from the ground is necessary (at 140 cm, the splash reach is reduced to 1/10). It was also found that the risk of splashes spreading sideways is low, leading us to adjust the height and shape of the product accordingly. Additionally, to avoid blocking light and making the area darker due to the increased height, we have switched to a clear type of material that allows light to pass through and visibility beyond the panel. Of course, it can be assembled for use and stored flat when not in use. It can be customized to the required size. We hope to assist in preventing the spread of infection amidst the risks and to alleviate everyone's anxiety, even if just a little! We want to think of and propose what we can do to help everyone overcome the threat of this coronavirus together!
