We would like to introduce a case study of the small wave height observation device, "Digi-Jellyfish." The work takes place in an area that is easily affected by waves and swells flowing in between two offshore breakwaters. There are many days when work is difficult due to wave conditions, and to help the client understand this fact, we introduced "Digi-Jellyfish." The data from the offshore Naufas was not trusted due to low wave height values, so we installed "Digi-Jellyfish" at the work site. We independently analyzed the wave height observation data, established work standard values, and submitted a design change request to the client with the results as evidence, which was successfully accepted.

Free membership registrationIn recent years, there has been a notable increase in heavy rain disasters, with both the frequency and duration of heavy rainfall, as well as the number of landslide incidents, showing an upward trend. To avoid damage from localized heavy rainfall, it is important not only to monitor warnings and advisories but also to early detect "signs of localized heavy rain" from information about rain and clouds, and to "make comprehensive judgments" in comparison with established criteria. The related catalog introduces recommended procedures for making judgments using weather information. Please utilize this for improving on-site safety and decision-making. 【5 Weather Information Checkpoints】 ■ Are there any days or time periods in the coming week when it will rain? ■ Are there any advisories or warnings regarding rain? ■ Is there any advisory information concerning linear precipitation zones? ■ What is the expected rainfall during the forecasted time periods, and how much rain is expected each hour? ■ Is there a strong precipitation area approaching the site that could bring more rain than the site standards? *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationI will introduce the "Mechanism of Localized Heavy Rainfall." When a large amount of warm, moist air flows into the lower atmosphere, along with the inflow of cold air aloft, the atmospheric conditions become very unstable, leading to the development of cumulonimbus clouds. As cumulonimbus clouds form successively in the same location and move eastward, they create a linear precipitation zone, resulting in sustained heavy rainfall in the same area. The related catalog provides a more detailed explanation of why localized heavy rainfall occurs, incorporating examples from the heavy rain event in northern Kyushu. Please take a look. [Development and Continuation of Cumulonimbus Clouds] - When a large amount of warm, moist air flows into the lower atmosphere, along with the inflow of cold air aloft, the atmospheric conditions become very unstable, leading to the development of cumulonimbus clouds. - As cumulonimbus clouds form successively in the same location and move eastward, they create a linear precipitation zone, resulting in sustained heavy rainfall in the same area. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce the implementation results of the small wave height observation device "Digi-Jellyfish." It has been installed in locations strongly affected by seasonal winds and where there is a discrepancy between the wave heights reported by Nowcast and the actual site conditions. The utilization coefficient did not match the actual situation, and there were many days when work could not be carried out due to severe weather. Therefore, we introduced "Digi-Jellyfish" to submit the data observed with it as evidence to the construction client. With the introduction of Digi-Jellyfish, we were able to present evidence to the client showing the discrepancy between the local wave heights and those reported by Nowcast.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce the implementation results of the comprehensive meteorological and oceanographic portal site "Compass PLUS." In the coastal beach nourishment project ordered by the Hokuriku Regional Development Bureau, the site faces the Sea of Japan and has a high shared coefficient (coefficient 5), allowing the utilization of observational data as evidence. Since meteorological observations and oceanographic forecasts can be managed centrally, the person in charge of comprehensive evaluation decided to adopt the technical proposal, leading to the successful bid. In addition to oceanographic forecasts (wave height, period, swells), we have installed meteorological observation devices (rainfall, wind, temperature), a web camera for remote monitoring of the site, and an alarm transmission device to convey information to the construction site. The greatest advantage is that all of these can be centrally managed through Compass PLUS.

Free membership registrationWe will introduce the implementation results of the disaster prevention system "ZEROSAI." At the Hokkaido Development Bureau, river construction was being carried out in areas frequently affected by flooding due to heavy rain. There was no established rule for evacuation actions based on the understanding of water levels upstream of the river and specific numerical settings, resulting in evacuation actions during flood disasters being left to individual judgment, leading to the introduction of "ZEROSAI." After its implementation, notifications of danger were effectively communicated through emails and disaster prevention lights when water levels upstream of the river rose, allowing workers to take swift evacuation actions. Additionally, knowing the real-time water levels upstream of the river, which is usually unoccupied, provided peace of mind for carrying out work. 【Case Study】 ■ Objectives - River construction in areas frequently affected by flooding due to heavy rain - Evacuation actions during flood disasters were left to individual judgment ■ Effects - Even during work, the situation could be understood through disaster prevention lights, ensuring compliance with on-site conduct guidelines - Danger was communicated through notifications via email and disaster prevention lights, leading to thorough and swift evacuation actions - Real-time awareness of water levels upstream of the river, which is usually unoccupied, allowed for peace of mind while working *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe will introduce the implementation results of the natural disaster prevention system "ZEROSAI." In the solar power plant construction project of a private company, concerns arose about the inflow of sediment due to rainfall. Since the site is extensive, it was necessary to detect issues in advance and take early protective measures, so "ZEROSAI" was introduced. After the implementation, by using the highly accurate "disaster prevention board" for pinpoint predictions, it became possible to plan for work interruptions, the start of protective measures, and the resumption of work, thus avoiding unnecessary labor and time. Additionally, weather conditions at the site could be checked using tablets and smartphones. This enabled instructions to be given to the site from anywhere at any time, resulting in the site being able to carry out protective measures quickly without wasting time. [Case Study] ■ Objectives - The site is extensive, so it is necessary to detect issues in advance and take early protective measures. - We want to conduct work while constantly monitoring weather conditions. ■ Effects - We were able to plan for work interruptions, the start of protective measures, and the resumption of work. - Weather conditions could be checked using tablets and smartphones. - Instructions could be given to the site from anywhere, allowing for quick execution of protective measures. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe will introduce the implementation results of the natural disaster prevention system "ZEROSAI." Since the introduction began in July, measures against heatstroke were necessary. The client has also been strictly instructing on accidents related to heatstroke, so we implemented "ZEROSAI" as a preventive measure. Originally, this site had a rule to take breaks three times in the morning and three times in the afternoon for heatstroke prevention. Additionally, we established and implemented a rule that when the values measured by the weather observation device "N Sensor" installed on-site reach the threshold, an email notification and alarm transmission device "Disaster Prevention Light" (electronic display board) will alert, and all on-site work will stop for breaks and hydration. [Case Study] ■ Purpose - With the introduction starting in July, heatstroke is a major concern for several months. - Preventive measures against heatstroke are necessary. ■ Measures - Continuous monitoring of on-site observations. - Email notification when temperature or WBGT (Wet Bulb Globe Temperature) exceeds the threshold. - Simultaneous notification to workers using the disaster prevention light. ■ Effect - If a notification is received, all on-site work will stop for breaks and hydration. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe will introduce the implementation results of the natural disaster prevention system "ZEROSAI." In the road improvement project at the Okinawa General Bureau, many processes cannot be carried out when it rains. Therefore, "ZEROSAI" was introduced for weather forecast-based process management and measures against rising body temperature. An electronic display board was installed in a location visible from anywhere on the large site to show temperature and humidity. Additionally, high-precision precipitation forecasts were used to review the processes three times a day. As a result of the implementation, not only was the weather checked at each process meeting, but emails were also sent when forecasts changed, allowing for a work process focused on efficiency and reducing work losses due to sudden rain. [Case Study] ■ Objectives - Measures against rising body temperature are needed due to the lack of shade or objects to block the hot wind. - Many processes cannot be carried out when it rains, necessitating weather forecast-based process management. ■ Measures - An electronic display board was installed in a location visible from anywhere to show temperature and humidity. - High-precision precipitation forecasts were used to review the processes three times a day. ■ Effects - No one suffered from heat-related illnesses. - Work losses due to sudden rain decreased. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
