In Nomura DS, to prevent vibrations that can reduce cutting accuracy and speed, a sliding guide with a dovetail structure is adopted on the guide surface of the tool holder. By supporting the ground guide surface over a wide area, vibrations are more easily absorbed, resulting in a solid fit between the tool holder and the fixed base, creating rigidity that can withstand difficult-to-cut materials. By reducing vibrations during cutting, it is possible to increase the peripheral speed and feed rate, thereby enhancing production efficiency. At NOMURADS, the base (BED) of the machine is made of a single cast piece, which supports the several hundred kilograms of the tool holder and absorbs vibrations throughout the entire base (BED). This is to prevent vibrations when machining hard materials such as difficult-to-cut materials. Recently, there has been a trend towards models that significantly cut one side of the base (BED). We would like to introduce Nomura DS's "Reduction of Setup Time and Improvement of Production Efficiency." At Nomura DS, we have adopted the "tool presetting method," which allows tools to be set outside the machine. Using a device called a tool presetter equipped with a microscope, we set the tools in the tool holder and make adjustments before attaching them to the machine. By performing tool adjustments outside the narrow confines of the machine, we improve workability, allowing anyone to easily set tools even during machining.
