Since its founding in 1917, Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation has made its core business the "ferroalloy business" and has grown alongside the development of the steel industry. Another pillar of our business is the "functional materials business." In this field, we continue to challenge ourselves day and night to achieve higher purity, enhanced functionality, miniaturization, and cost reduction. We are also engaged in the "resource recycling business," efficiently recovering rare metals and rare earths for the effective use of Earth's resources. The third pillar is the "energy business." Particularly in the field of geothermal development, we are pioneers in geothermal power generation in our country, with over 50 years of experience and achievements. In addition to our traditional diesel power generation business, we have recently also been working on power generation using renewable energy sources such as solar and wind.
