Etching processes using mixed acids are widely used in the manufacturing of liquid crystals and semiconductors, and at the same time, used mixed acid wastewater has been generated. Traditionally, a portion of this mixed acid wastewater has been used for pickling in steel mills; however, the majority has not been effectively utilized, as it has been neutralized with large amounts of alkali and then incinerated. In response, our company established a technology to separate mixed acid wastewater and recover it as a single acid, in collaboration with Kansai University. The recovered acid can now be effectively utilized as a resource through reuse and recycling.
