Aiming for a balance of lightness and strength, the honeycomb structure, which developed within the aerospace industry, has been created using paper, resulting in an even lighter and more environmentally friendly paper honeycomb. Paper honeycomb is an interesting material that holds the potential to innovate industrial practices and serves as an alternative product to wood to prevent the depletion of Earth's resources, as well as being an environmentally friendly product such as paper cushioning materials.
