Tamarind seed gum has long been used as a food additive for thickening sauces, dressings, and gravies, stabilizing ice crystals in frozen desserts, and preventing water separation in frozen foods. Our company has developed tamarind seed gum as a film. The tamarind seed gum film made from food additives is, of course, an edible film, so it can be used not only for food applications but also has been found to possess oxygen barrier properties. We have added a heat sealant made from food materials for its use as an edible packaging material.
