"Meta-vanadyl ammonium" is a crystalline powder that serves as a raw material for applications utilizing color and many compounds containing V. ◆Vanadium Sample Containers for Neutron Scattering Experiments Soleil Mining Co. handles vanadium containers for neutron scattering experiments. Vanadium (V) has the characteristic of having a small negative value for the interference scattering wavelength, but it is not zero. Therefore, a Bragg peak originating from vanadium is detected. Soleil Mining Co. has successfully developed sample containers that minimize this peak to nearly zero by adding elements to the vanadium. These were developed in collaboration with the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization. Soleil Mining Co. can provide you with superior sample containers for neutron scattering experiments. This eliminates the occurrence of peaks from sources other than the measured sample, enabling measurements with very high precision.

Vanadium dioxide (VO2), which exhibits a metal-insulator transition, is known to be useful as a phase change material (PCM) because it generates a large latent heat without melting. However, there was a challenge due to its low thermal conductivity, which prevented the interior from undergoing a phase change instantaneously.
