The Bactester developed by NPC is a compact device that performs rapid measurement of the total bacterial count, which is a fundamental indicator of hygiene management. Its measurement principle complies with the "Rapid Measurement Method for Bacterial Count by Fluorescent Staining" outlined in the Japanese Pharmacopoeia, utilizing a patented technology that images and directly measures bacteria excited by a cell staining reagent. It can be used not only for food but also for confirming hygiene conditions in environmental aspects, such as "water," which is difficult to culture, airborne bacteria, and swab tests.
