Achromatic polarizing film (polarizer) suppresses the hue changes seen in conventional polarizing films. In conventional polarizers, white display at parallel position could appear yellow-green, and black could take on a blue tint. 'MUSAISYOKU' is a polarizing film that maintains a constant transmittance for each wavelength at both parallel and perpendicular positions. As a result, it achieves true neutral gray, providing paper white color for white displays and clear black for black displays. It is a dye-based polarizer that can achieve high color reproduction even in reflective LCDs and semi-transparent LCDs. The wire grid type (reflective type) near-infrared polarizer requires careful handling, as it should not be directly touched or wiped. However, conventional polarizing films have exhibited discoloration at the edges during high temperature and high humidity testing. In automotive LCDs, there is a trend towards narrower bezels, and in devices like AR/VR/HMDs, smaller components are required. When edge discoloration occurs, it can lead to issues such as light leakage. This is a polarizing film with high polarization degree for near ultraviolet (UV) to blue light sources in the range of 370 to 430 nm.
