Smart ONC is a dual heat treatment technology that combines NITREG-C, a ferrite soft nitriding process, with ONC, which forms a magnetite oxide coating layer, in-process. It efficiently and cost-effectively improves the corrosion and wear resistance of brake discs, resulting in minimized brake dust and significantly reduced particulate matter emissions.

"NITREG®-C soft nitriding" is a gas soft nitriding process based on NITREG® nitriding potential control gas nitriding technology, which allows for the simultaneous diffusion of carbon and nitrogen into the surface of steel metals.
