Frequently Asked Questions about Self-Consumption Solar Power Generation

We will introduce frequently asked questions about unused electricity and panel capacity.

We will introduce frequently asked questions about self-consumption solar power generation. The capacity of the panels that can be placed on the roof is generally estimated as "area (m2) × 0.1 kW" for flat roof installations. Additionally, if you have a contract to receive excess electricity for free, any unused electricity will flow to the power company through the power lines. By setting up a storage battery, you can store excess electricity, allowing you to use it without waste. We will also answer other common questions such as, "Is it necessary to notify the power company even if I don't sell electricity?" and "Will there be a power outage during construction?" *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Risks of Rising Electricity Costs Affecting Self-Consumption Solar Power Generation for Businesses

Electricity unit prices can be reduced! By introducing self-consumption solar power, your electricity costs will definitely become more advantageous.

Factors contributing to the rise in electricity costs include the increase in levies due to the introduction of the fixed price purchase system and price hikes associated with the consumption tax increase. Including factors such as the rise in renewable energy levies, electricity costs are expected to continue to rise in the future. While the selling price of electricity has been declining year by year, the unit price of electricity for corporations is on the rise, making it more economical to consume self-generated solar power than to purchase electricity. 【External factors contributing to the rise in electricity costs】 ■ Increase in levies due to the introduction of the fixed price purchase system ■ Increased reliance on thermal power generation due to the suspension of nuclear power plants ■ Price hikes associated with the consumption tax increase *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Eco-friendly measures: Energy-saving examples of vacuum dryers

Moisture evaporates from sludge even at low temperatures! We have successfully reduced industrial waste disposal costs!

The sludge generated from our factory contained a lot of moisture, which increased its volume, making the waste disposal costs quite high and problematic for us. In an effort to reduce these costs, we searched for methods to decrease the volume and mass of the sludge. The vacuum dryer creates a state close to a perfect vacuum, and when we introduce the thick sludge that contains a lot of moisture, the moisture evaporates from the sludge even at low temperatures. The thick sludge transforms into a powdered state, reducing its volume. We were able to lower the disposal costs for the sludge, and the fuel required for drying was also less than that of other devices, which was a decisive factor. [Overview] ■ Equipment: Sludge treatment equipment ■ Industry: Plating factory ■ Effect: Environmental improvement *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Examples of bird repellent agents

Three years of free warranty on effectiveness! A gel primarily made of vegetable oil and capsaicin for pest bird control!

Our factory had been struggling with bird damage for some time. Nests were being built inside the factory, and droppings were frequently found in the parking lot. While it was bad enough in the parking lot, we were particularly worried about droppings landing on products before they were shipped after packaging. We tried various measures against the birds, such as bird control nets and spikes, but saw no effect and had almost given up. After some research, we discovered a company that guarantees the effectiveness of their bird control measures for three years. They seemed to use a gel made from plant oils (herbal extracts) and capsaicin (the spicy component of chili peppers). In any case, we decided to buy their confidence in the three-year unconditional guarantee and give it a try. To our surprise, not a single bird that had been so persistently nesting around was left. The effects were noticeable by the evening, even though the treatment was applied in the morning. [Overview] ■ Facility: Building ■ Industry: Food factory ■ Effect: Environmental improvement *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Examples of room temperature glass coating

Add various protective functions such as anti-dirt, anti-corrosion, anti-rust, salt damage resistance, and chemical resistance to the building!

The building itself is old, and significant deterioration had progressed. Nevertheless, in order to keep it clean for a long time, we had been conducting wall cleaning (high-pressure washing) as an annual event for our employees. However, seeing our factory getting dirty every year made me think, "It feels somewhat foolish to clean it every year." This glass coating is a special type of glass that remains in liquid form at room temperature and, once dried, has properties indistinguishable from solid glass. Once applied to the building, it becomes covered with a glass membrane. Buildings covered with this glass membrane (including outdoor-installed cubicles) gain various protective functions such as dirt resistance, corrosion resistance, rust resistance, salt damage resistance, and chemical resistance. With this technology, the building has become almost completely clean, so one of our annual events (building cleaning) has been eliminated. It feels a bit lonely, but the employees seem very happy about it. [Overview] ■ Equipment: Roof, walls, machine tools, outdoor panels ■ Industry: Chemical factory ■ Effect: Environmental improvement *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Eco-friendly measures: Energy-saving case study of oil-water separation systems.

No initial costs required! Separates oil and sludge contained in wastewater to nearly 0!

At our factory, we process automotive parts. The wastewater generated during manufacturing contains oil components such as machining oil, which we had been disposing of directly through a waste disposal company. With strict cost reduction demands from our customers, we wanted to reduce the costs associated with wastewater treatment. We learned that an oil-water separation system could separate (remove) the oil components and sludge contained in the wastewater to nearly zero, so we first installed a demonstration unit in-house to verify its effectiveness. As a result of the verification, it was found that we could remove oil components down to about 1/100. The separated oil components are reused after removing waste, and any excess can be sold, leading to significant cost reductions. 【Overview】 ■ Equipment: Wastewater treatment equipment ■ Industry: Metal processing factory ■ Effect: Environmental improvement *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Eco/ECO measures: Energy-saving examples of fuel reforming devices.

Safe introduction through demo machine testing! Energy-saving case with fuel reforming device.

We introduced it due to the renewal of an old boiler. Originally, our factory had a high boiler operating rate and was using a lot of fuel gas, which was driving up costs. Therefore, we installed a demo unit in-house to measure its effectiveness over a month. As a result of the test, we found that our gas usage was reduced by about 5%. The return on investment was quick, allowing us to proceed with confidence. The gas costs, which had been a long-standing issue, decreased. Eco/ECO measures: Energy-saving trap energy-saving case studies

Energy-saving case study through the introduction of highly durable energy-saving traps.

Steam was leaking along with the drain from the steam trap. Even if I replaced the trap immediately, it broke down like a consumable, leaving me in distress. The energy-saving trap introduced this time reportedly has no moving parts. By preventing steam leakage, a cost reduction of 42.4% was achieved. Made of stainless steel, it has high durability and a low replacement frequency, and its structure allows for easy maintenance, solving the issues of conventional steam traps. 【Overview】 ■ Equipment: Boiler ■ Industry: Food Factory ■ Energy-saving Rate: 42% * For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Eco/ECO measures: Energy-saving case of cyclone-type steam reforming equipment.

Energy-saving case study that improved losses using a cyclone-type steam reforming device.

A large amount of drain was generated, and energy loss became a challenge. Upon investigating the cause, it was found that the steam generated from the regular boiler produced low dryness wet steam, resulting in a significant amount of drain in the piping. Therefore, a cyclone-type steam reforming device was introduced. The dry steam sent to the secondary steam header is less likely to become drain during transport to the factory, allowing it to be supplied to steam-using equipment and machinery in very good condition. In fact, after the introduction, we successfully achieved a cost reduction of 18% (over 10,000,000 yen annually). Eco/ECO measures: Energy-saving case of hydraulic accumulators

Energy-saving case using a hydraulic accumulator that stores pressure.

I was very intrigued when a peer recommended energy-saving hydraulic systems, especially since our factory uses a lot of hydraulic equipment (motors). Hydraulic accumulators function like batteries, allowing the hydraulic unit to store the pressure exerted on the hydraulic fluid when operating at full capacity. When releasing the stored pressure, it suppresses the excessive operation of the hydraulic motors. After implementation, we successfully reduced power consumption by approximately 95%. 【Overview】 ■ Equipment: Hydraulic motors ■ Industry: Metal processing factory ■ Energy-saving rate: 95% *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Eco/ECO measures: Energy-saving examples for harmonic countermeasures.

Energy-saving case studies using motor harmonic countermeasures without stopping the machinery.

I understand well that if we can save energy with small motors in machine tools, we can reduce costs, but since it is a running machine, we cannot stop it. We also considered inverter control, but we gave up due to the enormous initial costs. However, this motor harmonic countermeasure allows for energy savings without having to stop the machine (motor). Additionally, since it is installed in parallel to the power transformer, it provides energy-saving effects for all three-phase induction motors (200V or 400V) that are connected to the transformer. After implementation, we were able to reduce the electricity consumption from 290,000 kWh/month to 252,000 kWh/month, resulting in approximately 13% energy savings. Energy-saving examples of unit restrictions.

Energy-saving case study that limits the number of units while avoiding risks through pressure forecast control.

Within the company, we were looking for ways to further reduce costs. The quantity control system we have implemented this time is characterized by its ability to provide more detailed control compared to conventional methods. It continuously monitors pressure and can accurately start and stop compressors with the appropriate capacity as needed. Additionally, it is possible to analyze and automatically calculate data collected from pressure monitoring sensors and predict load. Even if the lower limit of the original pressure is set as low as possible, there is no risk of insufficient pressure causing the line to stop. After implementation, we were able to reduce costs by approximately 35%. 【Overview】 ■ Equipment: Compressor ■ Industry: Resin processing factory ■ Energy saving rate: 35% *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

In the product manufacturing process, there are many steps such as water drainage blow and dust removal blow, and air blowing is constantly in a state of being wasted. The enhanced discharge intermittent blow system is attractive because it can reduce unnecessary air consumption by switching from a continuous blow state to intermittent operation. Additionally, since the air repeatedly collides with the target object, the blow effect is improved, and work efficiency (blow time) has also increased. Furthermore, it was very easy to implement without the need for electrical work. In fact, we were able to reduce the annual air consumption from 53,637 Nm3 to 26,819 Nm3, achieving approximately 50% energy savings. Energy-saving examples of digital starting devices.

A case of extending the lifespan of equipment by suppressing the starting current with a digital starting device.

I was progressing with the update of the compressor, but I was troubled by the electrical work costs associated with the update being higher than expected. After considering various methods, the final conclusion was to introduce a special starting device. This starting device allows us to reduce the starting current of the compressor, enabling us to use the existing wiring and breakers, thus eliminating unnecessary electrical work costs. The decisive factor for the introduction was simply that the estimated cost of the digital starting device (including installation) was cheaper than the estimate for the electrical work. Additionally, the load on the motor, belt, gears, etc., is reduced, which can extend the lifespan of the compressor. 【Overview】 ■ Equipment: Compressor ■ Industry: Fixture manufacturing factory ■ Equipment lifespan extension *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Energy-saving examples of well water type spot coolers.

Low-cost energy-saving case study using spot coolers utilizing well water.

We perform cleaning of bed sheets and bath towels used in hotels, and during the summer, the working environment was particularly harsh due to the waste heat from large dryers. The workspace inside the factory is very spacious, making it nearly impossible to cool the entire area with air conditioning. While researching various options, I came across a technology called well water spot coolers. This system cleverly utilizes well water, which maintains a constant temperature (15-17°C) throughout the year, to create a cool breeze and spot-cool the workspace. We were already using a lot of well water, which helped keep running costs low. Since it does not use a compressor, the power consumption is limited to just the fan and pump, resulting in lower electricity costs. It was also beneficial that we were able to experience a simple demo unit before implementation, allowing us to proceed with confidence. 【Overview】 ■ Equipment: Air conditioning ■ Industry: Cleaning factory ■ Energy-saving rate: 90% *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Energy-saving examples of vaporization heat supply systems.

Measures for high-temperature rice cooking rooms! Energy-saving case using a vaporization heat supply system.

In the factory, there is a rice cooker for cooking rice. To minimize the escape of indoor heat, forced exhaust was implemented. However, the balance between intake and exhaust was not well managed, resulting in a negative pressure state inside the cooking room. When negative pressure occurs, it becomes easier for garbage, dust, and insects from outside to enter, making it difficult to address the issue. Therefore, a vaporization heat utilization air supply system was introduced. This system utilizes only vaporization heat to cool and supply fresh outside air. In practice, during the summer, it was able to cool outside air from 36°C to about 27°C before supplying it indoors. This system does not have a compressor, allowing it to operate with approximately 70% lower power consumption compared to conventional air supply systems, which is also an attractive feature. Furthermore, since it does not use refrigerants, there is no need for refrigerant inspections, which is very helpful. 【Overview】 ■ Equipment: Air conditioning ■ Industry: Metal processing factory ■ Energy-saving rate: 70% *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Energy-saving case study of air conditioner robot cleaning machines.

Case study of environmental improvement through the introduction of air conditioning robot cleaning machines.

The air conditioner used in the factory was old and had hardly been cleaned, so its efficiency was deteriorating rapidly. When I opened the air conditioning unit to clean it and improve its efficiency, I found that dirt and dust were caked onto the heat exchanger. As I researched further, I learned about the existence of a robot cleaning machine specifically for air conditioners. It can carefully high-pressure wash each aluminum fin of the heat exchanger down to the millimeter, effectively removing dirt that conventional hand cleaning could not. After actually using it, the airflow improved from 11.73 m³/min to 14.92 m³/min, a recovery of 24%. Along with this, we were also able to reduce power consumption by 4%. Energy-saving examples of air conditioning networks.

No construction needed and easy installation! Energy-saving examples with air conditioning networks.

The lighting has already been switched to high-efficiency lighting, which has indeed resulted in energy savings. Now, we were looking for other equipment where we could do something. In the process, we found an interesting technology related to the air conditioning system, which incurs high electricity costs in our factory. The air conditioning net simply requires being secured with wire to the ventilation parts of the outdoor and indoor units to achieve energy savings. Since we could conduct a free test in our own facility, we verified the effectiveness in three rooms. As a result, we observed energy savings of 19%, 25%, and 40% in all rooms. No construction is required, and installation is easy. Additionally, being able to demonstrate the effectiveness before implementation was the deciding factor for adoption. Energy-saving case of a fan that eliminates indoor temperature unevenness.

A case where the use of a circulation fan stabilized indoor temperature and improved the environment.

There were temperature variations indoors, with the window side being hot in summer and the floor being cold in winter. Even when changing the set temperature, it would become too cold or too warm in specific areas, making it very difficult to regulate the indoor temperature. I found a solution that utilizes an existing air conditioning system with a circulation fan to eliminate the temperature variations indoors. Immediately, I conducted an effectiveness test in our office during the extremely cold winter, and in the room where the circulation fan was installed, significant effects (elimination of vertical temperature variations) were observed. Additionally, once we started using it, we found that there was no noise at all, and we were able to maintain a comfortable working environment. 【Overview】 ■ Equipment: Air conditioning ■ Industry: Plastic processing factory ■ Environmental improvement *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Energy-saving case study of intermittent operation system for compressors.

It does not affect the quality of the product! Energy-saving case of the compressor intermittent operation system.

We have already introduced high-efficiency lighting and were considering the implementation of demand control to further reduce electricity costs. The air conditioning intermittent operation system allows for timer-based energy-saving system control, enabling us to manage the environment of the workspace without altering it, which was a decisive factor in maintaining product quality. In fact, we were able to reduce the basic fee by 510,000 yen annually and the usage fee by up to 1,000,000 yen annually while keeping the temperature inside the refrigeration and freezing units within the set range. 【Overview】 ■ Equipment: Air Conditioning ■ Industry: Food Processing Plant ■ Energy Saving Rate: 43% *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Energy-saving case of domestic LED (straight tube type) with human sensor.

Energy-saving case of domestic LED (straight tube type) lighting equipment with human sensor.

The domestically produced LED lights with human sensors can prevent unnecessary power consumption through the sensors, making them ideal for factory lighting. In particular, during nighttime operations, only the necessary areas (the areas in use) are lit, which allows for significant reductions in electricity costs, and this was the decisive factor for the introduction. Previously, the electricity costs for lighting alone amounted to 910,000 yen annually, but after the introduction, we were able to reduce the electricity costs to 170,000 yen per year. 【Overview】 ■ Equipment: Lighting ■ Industry: Seafood processing factory ■ Energy-saving rate: 81% *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Energy-saving examples of energy-saving stabilizers.

We will introduce examples of energy-saving cases for high-efficiency energy-saving stabilizers.

For a long time, we were looking for a way to keep costs down by not switching to high-efficiency lighting and continuing to use existing fixtures and bulbs. The solution we found was to switch to high-efficiency ballasts. Without changing the work environment, we were able to reduce running costs by 43% (measured value). Additionally, energy-saving ballasts can mitigate the excessive current during ON/OFF cycles, which causes filament degradation, allowing existing bulbs to last longer and significantly reducing costs associated with consumables. 【Overview】 ■ Equipment: Lighting ■ Industry: Printing factory ■ Energy-saving rate: 43% *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Energy-saving case of high ceiling LED lighting with human sensor.

Automatic lighting and turning off with a sensor! Energy-saving case of high ceiling LED with motion sensor.

Before the introduction, I wanted to know if it would really be effective in our warehouse, so I had the operating rate measured with a measuring device. As a result of the measurement, it was found that the operating rate was about 30% (if the warehouse operates for 10 hours a day, the actual working time is about 3 hours a day). When we calculated how much energy could actually be saved based on the measured data, it was found that we could reduce it by 80%, so we promptly implemented it. 【Overview】 ■ Equipment: Lighting ■ Industry: Logistics Warehouse ■ Energy Saving Rate: 80% *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Energy-saving examples of electrode-less lamps.

One-fifth the power consumption of mercury lamps and five times the lifespan! Energy-saving examples of electrode-less lamps.

Previously, we used mercury lamps, and there were concerns that the warehouse was dark, which might be reducing work efficiency. However, while LED lights are bright and glaring directly underneath, we were hesitant to implement them due to concerns that they might be too dazzling and reflect off products, thereby reducing work efficiency. We decided to adopt "electrode-less lamps" because they spread light over a wide area compared to LEDs, illuminating the entire space without glare. We have successfully reduced power consumption by 76% before and after the implementation without decreasing work efficiency. 【Overview】 ■ Equipment: Lighting ■ Industry: Logistics Warehouse ■ Energy Saving Rate: 76% *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
