We would like to introduce a case study regarding the measures taken to address jetting issues in small lot PC injection molded products made with our simple molds. Due to the close proximity from the side gate to the product, there were visible defects caused by jetting. As a countermeasure, we reduced the speed in the molding conditions and increased the mold temperature to make the jetting less noticeable. In addition to these measures, we also restricted the flow of resin with a core pin to allow it to spread in a fan shape, which helped mitigate the jetting issue. For the development product, we received a request for molding with pellet material. While we have molds for dumbbell test specimens, we decided to create a prototype mold due to the preference for screw shapes. It was necessary to experiment with various mold temperatures under molding conditions, and we raised the mold temperature to a maximum of 160°C.
