The "S.P.N. method" is a nitriding process for steel that utilizes plasma energy, differing from the conventional ion nitriding method that uses traditional plasma power. It causes less roughness on the surface of the treated material and can suppress the formation of compound layers, which are considered a drawback in the case of alloy steel. Therefore, it features reduced "dimensional changes" and "brittleness" compared to conventional methods.
