We would like to introduce our "etching" process. By reducing only the cladding diameter (outer diameter) of the optical fiber, the fiber pitch can be made available at 0.25mm or less. By etching a thicker fiber, it can be inserted into a typical Φ125μm hole ferrule, for example. We would like to introduce the "MFD Conversion Fiber" that we handle. By utilizing the thermal diffusion technology from deltafiber.jp, we can minimize MFD mismatch loss to the extreme. It can be used with commercially available SI-type SMF. Additionally, the connection part is fusion-spliced and comes with either recoating or a reinforcement sleeve. It locally expands the mode field diameter by 2 to 3 times (changing the refractive index distribution), resulting in a smaller NA (numerical aperture).
