The speaker will be Koichiro Kakinuma, a former Sony engineer who has been engaged in the field of color for many years. ■ It's free. Scheduled for November 27, 2024, from 13:30 to 14:30. The Gamut Rings method, proposed and put into practical use by Dr. Masaoka from NHK, is a means to measure the color reproduction range of displays. This is a completely new and groundbreaking method that visualizes a three-dimensional color gamut, including brightness that could not be expressed conventionally, in two dimensions (see attached materials). It has been internationally standardized by organizations such as IEC, ICDM, and CIE. In this presentation, we will explain the basic principles of the Gamut Rings method and provide an overview of the product GR-55, as well as introduce the immediate conversion to xy chromaticity diagrams, xyY color space, and L*a*b* color space that have been used traditionally.
