Established in 1943 in Ehime Prefecture, the company developed as a manufacturer of newsprint and board paper. Subsequently, it entered the Western paper business and the sanitary paper market for end consumer products such as tissue and toilet paper, growing into a comprehensive paper manufacturer. Leveraging the brand power and sales channels built in the sanitary paper business, it also ventured into the absorbent materials business, including baby paper diapers. Starting in January 2011, it began constructing baby paper diaper factories in Thailand, followed by China and Indonesia, marking the beginning of its full-scale overseas expansion and the establishment of a unique portfolio.
